The British Youth Council is looking for young people aged 16-25 to join its Board! If you’re inspired at the thought of helping to implement our vision of a world where all young people are respected and able to influence and inform decisions…then this might be the opportunity for you.
As the national youth council of the UK, we live by our value of youth leadership. Our board of trustees is made up of 13 people who are elected or appointed by other young people as part of our Annual Council Meeting. The board not only sets the strategic direction of the organisation, but also monitors its progress, shapes our activities and acts as ambassadors and spokespeople for the British Youth Council in the media and elsewhere.
While your first goal as a trustee is to serve your peers and the British Youth Council, it is also a way to build your experience and networks, develop a broad range of skills and help shape the future of a world where all young people have a say and are heard.
Representation is important to us, and we would encourage young people from diverse backgrounds to apply. The British Youth Council works with young people from all walks of life, and it’s important for us to reflect that diversity in our governance.
