We began the year at the British Youth Council with the Run31 Challenge. Although January was a slow month overall, the Run31 Challenge participants helped us turn it around.
In the challenge, 5 amazing runners have run 31 miles within the 31 days of January. They were successful in raising funds, with a total of £774 donated to the British Youth Council, including gift aid. This is a fantastic way to start the year.
Despite how bitterly cold, wet, or gloomy the weather seemed, our incredible runners continued to support us by running. For this, we sincerely appreciate them and we are genuinely moved by their commitment to elevating the youth voice! We thank all our fundraisers, donors and supporters who passionately and generously contributed to this challenge to amplify the voices of young people.
Their funding will support the British Youth Council’s efforts to mitigate the effects of the cost of living crisis on young people’s mental health.
Conor Naughton, one of the runners and BYC trustee shared his thoughts with us: “As a trustee of the British Youth Council I am continually blown away by what our incredible members do to create social and political change and I saw this challenge as a great way to support that work and get fit myself!”
We had a lot of fun with the Run31 challenge, but if you couldn’t participate, we will have more exciting challenges in 2023. You can register your interest in upcoming challenge events and keep up with the latest news by visiting our fundraising page.
