In January, the British Youth Council organised the ‘Run 31’ fundraising campaign. Our 8 amazing runners were able to raise an AMAZING grand total of £1889.25 (including gift aid) within a span of 31 days, outperforming our initial target of £1500. We are so proud of what our Team Run31 achieved and want to showcase our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated, shared and donated to this challenge – you are all incredible.
The funds raised will go such a long way towards our work, empowering young people to share their voice on issues such as mental health, and enabling them to create meaningful change.
Shakeel, one of the runners shared his experience with us: “I really enjoyed taking part in the Run31 Challenge, I ran specifically to raise money for mental health in particular. Doing a walk or a short run every day for a month really gave a sense of accomplishment and something to look forward to. It increased my overall fitness and health, it also helped me to think about the bigger picture by being involved in something bigger than myself thus giving me motivation during the times I didn’t feel like running. I highly recommend others to join”.
Anthony also shared: “the reason I did this challenge was because I suffer with bad mental health myself and, as a consequence, became content with staying inside outside of school hours. So, it was an opportunity to not only better myself but raise money for those who have similar struggles!”
Thank you so much to everyone involved for making this such a special campaign.
