Do you want to get involved and make a difference?
BYC aims to share skills, ideas and information to give all young people the chance to make a difference to their communities and to society.....
.....and we are always on the look-out for new ways to do this. Right now we are working with the volunteering people, 'v', to provide a year's full time volunteering experience for young people who are interested in campaigning as part of the vTalentYear scheme. This builds on two successful volunteering programmes run recently with the support of ‘v’: BYC Internships and BYC Campaigners. These schemes brought together a dynamic team of young people who helped raise awareness, inspire and bring about change, both at BYC HQ and around the country.
We also enable young people to volunteer as either a part of our Online Action Network or as Trustees on our Board. You can find volunteering opportunities from BYC or other charities on www.do-it.org.uk where you can search for things near you, doing the things you’re interested in.
Here's what some of our current and past volunteers have to say about volunteering with BYC:
BYC Campaigners
I am looking forward to building the future with BYC as a volunteer, and encouraging others to do the same.
Mohammed (22), BYC Campaigner, Newcastle
It’s great fun and very fulfilling when you realise you can make a difference.
I think it's important that every young person has the chance to do some kind of voluntary work along the line. The knowledge that you've helped to make a change, gives you a great deal of pride, you also become part of a real close unit which is like a family!
BYC Interns
My involvement at BYC so far has been filled with fun and laughs and I am grateful that they have given me this opportunity. I am aware of so much more than I was before and hope to continue such inspiring work.
Olivia, BYC Intern
BYC provides so many opportunities for young people to get involved in making positive changes while having fun!
I have gained so much from my time here and wish that I could do it all over again, just so I don't have to leave!!
Sophie, BYC Intern
