Course summary:This workshop will develop young people's skills to be effective members of a committee or charity trustee board, by equipping them with the essential skills and knowledge that they need for this role.

Who is this course for?Young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who are already committee members/charity trustees or would like to become one.

  • Be able to communicate effectively in board meetings
  • Understand the reason for a range of decisions made within organisations and who has responsibility for making them
  • Understand the legal considerations related to being a trustee
  • Understand the financial aspects associated with organisations as well as different types and sources of funding
  • Gain skills, knowledge and resources so that you can get involved effectively in governance.

Your organisation will need to provide chairs, flip-chart paper, stand and flipchart pens. Any additional equipment needed (OHP, video player, projector) will be requested by BYC on confirmation of booking.
