The Youth Select Committee today (13th July) held its first evidence session on safe, affordable and accessible transport for young people. Witnesses included BBC Children in Need, Whizz-Kids, Sustrans and Passenger Focus.

The committee mirrors the UK Parliament's select committee structure and gives young people the opportunity to scrutinise and hold enquiries into topics of importance to them.

The Youth Select Committee will publish a report in September 2012 with a government response to follow.
