On Wednesday 24th October, the National Scrutiny Group ventured to London for its second meeting to discuss issues such as HealthWatch, The Bailey Review, Key Stage 4 reform and school nursing. They were also joined by the newly-appointed Children's Minister Edward Timpson MP.

The British Youth Council, funded by the Department for Education, recruited the National Scrutiny Group (NSG) to work with Government Departments and Ministers to ensure that young people's views and needs are taken into account when developing policies that affect them. The group is made up of 15 young people aged 11-19 from across England.

The group will be publishing a report on the meeting in the next few weeks, and will meet again in February 2013.
