Why social action?

Cabinet Office _logo _black _printWe have been asked by the Government, in particular Dame Julia Cleverdon and Amanda Jordan OBE at the Cabinet Office on behalf of the Prime Minister, to gather young people's views about 'social action' or 'helping others'.

The Government wants to make sure that everyone - including businesses, charities and schools - works together to support more opportunities for young people aged 10-20 to put something back into society and help others. As the Prime Minister said: "how can we build [on existing work] and work together - charities, business and Government - to expand the opportunities for young people to get involved and put something back?".

They also want to tap into the potential of young people to care, and help to them feel empowered to make a difference. And they want social action opportunities that will also develop skills and experience to help with young people's job prospects and future career.

Your views will be fed back to the Government, and will be discussed by other young people to inform new Government proposals about social action.
