Annual Council Meeting 2011

The Annual Council Meeting will celebrate what we have achieved and help to shape our work for the future - through discussion, debate and voting on our priorities for 2011/12 and elections to vacant posts on BYC's Board of Trustees.

The date:Saturday 3rd September 2011
The time: 10.30am to 4.30pm (first time delegates training from 9.45)
The place: This year we're in London

Attendance at the Annual Meeting is FREE to all BYC members, and lunch and refreshments will be provided. You are allowed a maximum number of delegates with voting rights, and an allocation of observers, which is governed by the size of your organisation (please refer to our website for information about this). In addition to this we will have extra spaces for support workers, please contact us if you require more information on this.

We ask that you ensure that your delegates are representative of your organisation's membership, and that they consult within your organisation on the key issues and policy proposals to be discussed, in advance, to best represent you at the event.

What will we discuss

The Annual Council Meeting the agenda will include:

• Decide the priority campaigns for the year

BYC Members will decide what we should be campaigning on for the year ahead based on your issues contained within the BYC Manifesto

• Electing our Board of Trustees

BYC is led by young people for young people - by Board of trustee made up young people and elected by you the membership. Find out more about them and what they want to do for you and how you can stand to become one here

• BYC's Honorary Presidents

BYC's Honorary Presidents are elected (or re-elected) annually and drawn from representatives of the three main political parties in the House of Commons. If you wish to put forward a Member of Parliament to be considered for one of these positions please fill the nomination form which can be found here

• BYC Board of Trustee report

The board will present their annual report to you, including our accounts for 2010/11, and plans for the coming year and give you a chance to ask questions about the work of BYC.
