Run your own fundraising event

If running or bungee jumping isn’t your thing, that’s okay! There are plenty of other ways that you can help raise money for the British Youth Council. You could organise a bake sale, host a talent show, or arrange a fancy dress day at your workplace or school.

If you would like to support the British Youth Council, but do not know how, we have a list of fun and easy ideas below you could use for inspiration!

Whatever your idea, we are here to help you make it a success. Simply get in touch and tell us what you are planning and we will endeavour to support you throughout the organisation and on the day.

Hold a coffee morning, afternoon tea or cake bake. At home, at work, in an interesting location? Invite along some friends or colleagues and ask them to make a contribution.

Dress up/dress down. Encourage your school or workplace to hold a fancy dress day, where participants can dress up in fancy clothes or as their favourite superhero or literary character, in exchange for a £1 or £2 donation. Proceeds could then be donated to the British Youth Council. Don’t forget to send us your photos!

Clear out your cupboards. When you’re in the mood to have a spring clean, but don’t know what to do with all your unwanted stuff, please don’t throw it away! Sell your unwanted items in a car boot sale, or on websites such as Facebook Marketplace, ebay, Depop and Vinted (for clothes). Not only does this help the environment, donating any proceeds will help the British Youth Council immensely. It's a win-win situation for you and for us! Even better, get some friends to join you!

Quiz night. Everyone loves a quiz night! Simply ask some close friends to help out with some snacks and donate some silly little prizes that could be sold in a raffle or auction, and ask around for a free venue. Note: virtual quiz night Among - us.

Donations instead of presents. If you have got all you need and are having a special birthday or are hosting a special holiday celebration, why not ask people for a donation to the British Youth Council instead.

Organise a sponsored silence. At work, at home, in a school class or local scout troop – anywhere and for as long as people can last. Make things interesting by providing a prize for the last person to crack!

Talent Show. Organise your very own local talent show and encourage people to make donations to the British Youth Council or hold a raffle. You can even have your own version of Simon Cowell to pass judgement if you want – all part of the fun!

Create a GoFundMe page for the charity! This is a really easy and helpful way to help raise money for us. If you select our charity from the list of registered charities, you can launch your fundraiser where 100% of the proceeds are automatically sent directly to the British Youth Council.

This is only a very small selection, the list of possibilities is almost endless – if you want more ideas, or want to discuss a possible event, then please get in touch, we would love to hear from you!
